Mandela Drawings
mandala
And how To make one for yourself
Learned this technique while on my 2020 Winter yoga retreat this year.
While meditating i jotted down shapes that came to my mind
from those 3-6 shapes I re drew them each onto a 3 1/3 x 81/2 piece of paper. Once happy with the designs I transferred the design onto a heavy card stock 3 1/2×8 1/2 to finalize the shapes.
I Cut the shapes out with scissors then began to narrowed the shapes down to 3 or 4. when happy with each I then drew a straight line down the centre of each shape to help with the next stage of the mandala.
On a square piece of quality drawing paper (12×12 preferably) and with a soft pencil, lightly draw linear lines vertical horizontal and diagonal with the axcess point in the center of the page
draw around each shape one at a time. equally on all four sides line up the line you drew in the last step on the lines on your quality paper. One at a time exactly the same line one all four sides
when finished rub out one at a time each shape or line you do not want in your mandala until your happy with the design. with a black sharpe go over the pencil lines . rub out with an eraser all the pencil lines then start colouring the shapes.
best if you do each one shape at a time before moving on
so you don’t get confused
cheers have fun

I learned this technique of making a mandala s while attending a workshop at the Yoga center in Barra De Navidad this winter
it has come in very useful for creating my own designs or just to keep me busy during this COVID-19 Outbreak
