We Saw 8 films in five days and enjoyed the buzz that Tiff brings to Toronto.
Our first film was KODACHROME . I chose that film because of the discussion it can evoke between the transition from film to digital. With both of us in the industry it was fitting to watch something dear to our hearts. The film about a very famous photographer who is dying, desperately needs to get his last set of Kodachrome slides developed before the last lab developing shuts down their system. He also in has to rebuild his relationship with his estranged son. Ed Harris ( Max Headroom ) plays the father. Unfortunately it did not grab our hearts and we both scored it a 3 star.
Saturday Morning early we made our way down to the UofT campus for a free screening and fundraiser for Rob Stewart’s two films Shark Water and _______ . A wall mural unveiling ceremony in honour of Rob that included the mayor of the city was in the afternoon. Rob Stewart was from Don Mills and lived on the same street as us, He died in a dive accident in Feb. of this year. His legacy has opened our eyes to the multi billion-dollar scandal that implicates us all in the hideous massacre of our highest predator in the food chain, the shark. his organization_______________
